Public outreach

Since 2016 when I started my PhD, I am regularly for talks about my research, opinions and experience, and demos with Softbank Pepper robot and RoboCup robots (Darwin OP and custom made by the team). The events are organised for the public, UH open and induction days, staff events, School of Computer Science and other UH Schools, visiting pupils and international visiting students. I participated at the event UK Robotic Week in two local schools (primary and secondary), I participated in national fairs such as Makerfaire and FuturoRemoto, and events for students such as PON STEM, Coding Girls, RomeCup.

  • (2019) The work “Getting to know Pepper: Effects of people’s awareness of a robot’s capabilities on their trust in the robot.” presented at HAI2019 has been mentioned by the German online news “Heise”[1].
  • (2022) The work related to BRILLO project has been featured in an interview called “Brillo the Robot Bartender Chats and Pours” by Electromaker[2].
  • (2023) Interview with Claire Asher for episode 41 of the UK-RAS podcast program called “Robot Talk”[3].
